The Pixie Session 2010
Sun, August 29th – Thu, September 2nd
UPDATE: March 31, 2010.
To our great chagrin, we have had to cancel The Pixie Session due to a lack of registrations. Thanks for your kind understanding.
RDC is, after all, a family resort, and so the camp is organically designed to support and nourish a wide range of needs and interests. One example is that some classes will be offered for taking with your children, depending on their ages and the needs. If your children are between the ages of 3 and 5 years old they can participate in the Wee Campers Program Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to noon in a relaxed and well-supervised morning playgroup. On Tuesday, children between the ages of 6 and 12 can take part in an RDC tradition: the adventuresome and much-loved Loon Island Picnic. Babysitting services can be arranged for very young ones in advance through the camp.
The Pixie Session is for parents or grandparents (or even fairy godparents!) who want to spend time with their favorite kids in a place where an abundance of unforgettable experiences and art camp memories waiting to unfold.
For parents who don't wish to seperate their life as a parent from their creative identity, this is an opportunity to weave both aspects together in a supportive environment. It is a lovely choice for grandparents who yearn for special time with their grandchildren in a beautiful and safe place where meals and plenty of activities are included in the vacation.
This is an opportunity to fish, take nature walks, swim, read, learn printmaking, make masks, write fairy tales, learn the art of storytelling and so much more.
Our hope is that these four days will feed into the days and months following SAW as a wellspring for building a creative family life. We wish to inspire the participants of The Pixie Session to depart full of inspiration for integrating parenting and the artful life.
